Charlotte Hornets, DJ Chuck T host Music Industry Night

Earlier this month the Charlotte Hornets hosted Music Industry Night at the Spectrum Center. Held in partnership with DJ Chuck T, the event is designed to give recording artist an opportunity to perform in an arena while also gaining knowledge to further their careers.

Performers for the seventh Charlotte Hornets Industry Night were; J. Martell, Kid Jerzey, Ras Medy, Paris Seanye, Mia Mason, Natalie Harrison, Big Feddy, MK Bramlett and others. The event also included a panel discussing featuring some of the biggest DJ’s and artist from across the state.

The highlight of the event was the one-on-one discussion with DJ Chuck T and Wendy Day, a music consultant who has helped some of the biggest names in the industry get record deals and out of bad contracts.

Day, founded Rap Coalition in 1992 with a goal to help hip-hop artist learn the ins and outs of the music industry. She brokered several major deals in the 90s including deals for Cash Money Records, Master P and No Limit, Twista, Boosie, and Eminem just to name a few. During her sit down with DJ Chuck T, Day dropped several gems on how to make it in the industry as an independent artist.
