This week Concealed Media had the opportunity to sit down with one of NC’s most successful independent artist, Charlotte’s very own Mylestone. In this very exclusive interview Mylestone opens up about his journey through the music industry and how he fell in love with music, some of the struggles he’s faced, his creative process, balancing his music career and being a business owner, and much more.

Long before he even thought amount picking up a mic or penning a song of his own, Mylestone’s musical journey was cultivated by his grandmother, who introduced him to the piano when he was only six years old.

As he grew older Myles’ love for hip-hop started to grow as well and his skills caught the attention of Mack Maine, President and CEO of Young Money. The connection with Young Money led to the hit single “Bounce Back”, featuring Young Money recording artist Lil Twist and in 2019 he released his first EP, “Carved in Stone” with the label. During his time in Miami and with Young Money Myles said he was able to learn the in and outs of the music industry.

“Miami is what showed me the science of the music thing. Like people enjoy these kind of songs when you’re honest and transparent and shape it in your own way they’re actually open to receive it,” he said. “…I was very vulnerable to a certain extent really just open with my lifestyle and music and I think that’s what caught people attention.”

Since his time in Miami Mylestone has continued to show he has what it takes to make it in the music industry. His most recent project “Sorry You Have To Wait” which features hits like “Rockstar” and “Promethazine Parade” shows Myles’ ability in the booth.
