Gee Hendrix and Qlean chop it up with the crew inside the Camo Lounge

At Concealed Media we pride ourselves on being plugged in with the hottest artist, producers, managers, and DJ’s in North Carolina and we recently sat with the dynamic duo of manager Gee Hendrix and his artist Qlean, to talk about how they came together, growing up in the Salisbury area, mental health the current state of the rap game and more.

The name Gee Hendrix is known throughout the state. A native of East Spencer, Gee manages several artist from across the state and his hometown. Gee said he believes he’s been so successful in the industry by being generous but still standing on business at the same time.

“I’m one of the most unselfish people you’ll ever meet. I want all my people with me but I also stand on business,” he said.

Although Gee represents several artist he didn’t mix words when introducing Qlean. He referred to the Salisbury artist as the best lyricist and most gifted artist in the state.

When describing his own style, Qlean said his music represents the true soul and spirit of hip-hop. Qlean who gives off vibes of J.Cole when he’s in the booth, said instead of rapping about jewelry cars and clothes like many mainstream artist instead he makes music that everyone can relate to.

“I think it kind of leans towards the essence of what hip hop truly was,” Qlean said. “Like when Grand Master Flash and The Furious Five came out they were rapping about their surroundings and what they saw…it was real tangible things and it’s the same way with me.”
