$hyfromdatre shares her journey, and plans for the future

In recent years there has been several artist from Winston-Salem, NC make waves in the music industry but there is only one “Face of the City”, $hyfromdatre. $hy recently stopped by the Camo Loungefor an exclusive interview with the hottest podcast in North Carolina, Concealed Media.
$hy started rapping when she was only 14-years-old and in 2019 she made the decision to pursue her music career full time. Although she’s only been making music for about 5 years she said she can already see the growth in her music. Songs like “Go Bestfriend”, “1730 G”, and the viral hit “600 Degrees” which has been viewed over six million times on YouTube prove fans are noticing the growth as well.
“Just seeing the growth in myself from my first song to some of my newer songs I have now has been crazy,” she said. “Even in my interaction with the crowd.”
Several major record labels have taken notice to $hy’s talent. During her interview she mentioned that some of the biggest names in the industry have reached out with a deal on the table but for now prefers to stay independent.
“I’ve had almost every major label reach out to me from Def Jam, Republic, Universal, Atlantic,” she continued. “…It’s not even necessarily about the money I want to understand the business behind it.”
