Legendary radio personality Big Mo sits down with Concealed Media

A few weeks ago Concealed Media hit the road and made the drive to Greensboro to tap in with legendary radio personality and director Big Mo. During the interview Big Mo shares his journey to where he is today and the secrets behind successful radio programming. From navigating the challenges of the ever changing music landscape to creating compelling content that keeps audiences hooked this interview has a little bit of everything.

Big Mo said he got his start in radio in 1999 and by 2002 he was at 102 Jamz, arguable the biggest hip-hop station in NC. He said after working with Terrance J at WNAA, the radio station on the campus of NC A&T State University, he helped him get an interview at 102. During that initial interview, Big Mo said the director at that time told him he would never work in commercial radio.

“I’ll never forget this, he said Mo you will never make it in commercial radio,” he continued. “I could’ve quit and said I’m done but something told me keep going.”

After graduating from A&T, Big Mo had another interview with a the new director at 102, Tap Money, he was offered a job. and the rest is history. Today Big Mo serves as the music director at 102 Jamz and he is on the air weekdays 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and on the weekends 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
