When New York lyricist YK Dee and Chicago producer Oz On The Track pulled up to Concealed Media, they brought more than just talent they brought brotherhood, substance, and game for the culture.

Their bond began six years ago in Los Angeles when G Herbo introduced them during a studio session. What started as a casual link quickly turned into a strong creative connection. From there, YK and Oz began collaborating and building a dynamic artist-producer chemistry that continues to elevate both of their careers.

YK Dee, closely affiliated with G Herbo’s 150 Dream Team, has earned attention for his lyrical depth. While many expected him to be another drill artist, he defied expectations by focusing on message driven music rooted in experience. “We not on that kill kill shit,” he said. “We get fresh, we get money, we take care of our people. That’s gangster to me.”

Oz, who’s produced for major artists like Polo G, Gunna, and Lil Durk, recalled how YK spent two years locked in at home refining his sound. “Bro was just locked in, and I told him—the game needs what we can offer right now,” Oz said. “Substance is coming back.”

Their collaboration came to a head with a standout performance on On The Radar. Originally intended to be a solo moment for YK, the idea evolved to include G Herbo himself. Oz produced the entire session, handling beat selection, sequencing, and direction. “Usually the rapper’s the quarterback,” they laughed, “but this time, the producer called all the plays.”

Oz has become a central figure in Chicago’s sound, with over three billion streams across platforms. He credits his rise to a leap of faith quitting warehouse jobs, working at studios, and building a reputation through word of mouth. “I got in the mix and just stayed consistent,” he said.

YK also opened up about his latest project, Thousand Nights, which he described as deeply personal. “That was me going through real life being a dad, being in the streets, being in the studio. I scrapped the tracklist like four times,” he said. “I had to let it go before the year ended.”

Now the two are gearing up to release a full

length joint project titled Comeback Season. Oz produced every song on the album and curated the entire direction. “I took time off, but I’m coming back 10 times better,” YK said. “You’ve got to remind people why they believed in you.”

Outside of music, their friendship and work ethic were just as clear. From trading stories about viral moments with G Herbo, to giving shoutouts to their circle, to debating food spots in Chicago and New York, the chemistry between them was undeniable.

As YK put it, “Whether you’re doing a podcast, cooking, or making music it’s going to take at least a thousand nights to see real progress. You’ve got to be willing to put that time in.”

With that same mentality, YK Dee and Oz On The Track are proving they’re not just part of the conversation they’re helping lead it.
